Metricool
If you are like me, a small business owner with a dislike for all things Social Media, then this review might be for you. As a one-man band, keeping things light and having fun reviewing amazing products and services, I have to get my content in front of my readers and potentially grow my reader base. The only way to do this without paying through the nose is to manage a social media strategy, but dedicating time to this erodes the opportunity to add more content or have a life.
Now everyone is nodding and saying yes, that’s why we outsource it, we can all do that, but I hate doing it, especially since budgets and bank balances matter!
So, if it is on your shoulders, which platform do you use or prioritise? What do you manage? Whom do you reply to? How many times do I need to monitor the feed? And what do I post? The list is endless, which is why so many other businesses are willing to take this burden off your desk.
In truth, I was happy to do little, but my business has suffered, so I looked for software to handle it. I needed a cheap solution that would give me control and be easy to use. I looked at a few, but one really caught my eye, Metricool.
They were offering not a free trial but free access to their cloud-based software-as-a-service solution, and as I write this, they promise you can keep it forever. For me, it was a no-brainer; I signed myself up! There is a paid version (which I willingly paid for after a month to unlock more options), though not everyone will need it. I will cover what extras I got a little later. As I have several brands, and my biggest one is my author and speaker business (https://carljones.org), it was obvious to start there and roll out to this and my other brands later.

Starting the experience at the beginning of December 2025, I quickly realised it was web-based, easy-to-use, click-linking software that I immediately fell in love with. The free version offers single-brand access to all the leading social media platforms, allowing you to manage future posts, respond to messages and comments, analyse these platforms, and add your website stats. This was truly a dream come true for me.
The learning curve was not as steep as I expected. There are loads of tutorials and YouTube videos that walk you through setting everything up and using the functions. My first task was to link my Website (WordPress-based). I downloaded a plugin, copied and pasted a link into the settings, and it was done. Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, TikTok, Google Business, YouTube, and Twitch accounts were even easier to manage. Since I was already logged in to each platform, Metricool just asked for permissions, and all I had to do was authorise it on each platform.

Without guidance, within 30 minutes, I had worked out and sorted all my connections. It is a straightforward and well-put-together solution.
Next was to work out how the planner worked, again with no help. Within 10 minutes, I already had 3 posts listed in the planner, and spent the next 20 minutes sorting enough content to coverthe other side of the festive period. I thought that if I took time off over Christmas, at least the posts would keep my business in front of potential customers. Especially that they displayed my followers’ heat map of when they are online.

Within 2 hours, I had signed up, created content, and scheduled posts for the next few weeks. I planned to see if this worked, monitor the stats, and decide whether it was worth continuing to dive deeper into the solution.
Within a few days, I took a look, and my stats had started to soar.
Christmas continued, and so did Metricool, but by the start of the new year, I was sold: this platform had removed hours of pain, trouble, and distraction from me running my business. I was using the Metricool login Inbox to monitor and respond to all comments, direct messages, and likes from all platforms. Not only that, I found, downloaded and logged into the mobile app. I was able to pick up my phone and do this.
Starting in January, I purchased the annual subscription to add Caveman Reviews and my other brands. You may ask why I just didn’t use another email and get it for free. Well, this Caveman does not roll like that. Plus, I wanted access to LinkedIn and additional features, such as LinkedIn posting (since I had also purchased Dripify) and Smartlinks.
Since then, I was fully invested in Metricool and wanted to do as much with it as I could. This, coupled with the regular helpful emails from their comms team, was a huge benefit. They sent through how-to guides and case studies. They even have their own area on their website to access all the help you will ever need: https://metricool.com/metricool-tutorials/. Spending a few short hours going down several rabbit holes, this Caveman, with the most basic of computer skills, had sorted his content management for months. All of it automated and dragging content through from my YouTube Channel and this website (using Feeds, yes, all easy to follow steps from their help section. Yes, as soon as I post a video, or even this review, it gets added to a playlist, and under my control, I limit how many times it is shared, when, and on which platforms.
Even if I do not add another separate ‘look at this’ post, my social media posting will continue in the background, taking the burden of having to share my work off my desk and putting it ‘out’ there.
Since adding this brand to the Metricool account, I realised I had missed a lot. Pretty much all of my work, connections, and comments come through YouTube, so that is where I put my effort, but I had missed a few messages on Facebook and Instagram. Now I was not going to miss anything. It gave me a massive surge of pride to have found this company.

The cost of the purchased solution is a fraction of the cost that I would have to pay a social media company, and I am doing it my way, with the teachings and guidance of this amazing company, Metricool my business is growing at a rate I never thought possible.
If you are going to one thing this year to take the pressure off running your small business, company, social group, meeting or group you cannot go wrong in trying this social media management tool. I can honestly say that providing they do not change their solution for the worse, I am a member for life. A genuine heartfelt thanks to Metricool for bringing this to the market, you have saved so many small businesses hours, days and months of pain.
